Letter from the Elders

After over four decades, 143 graduates and untold students, it has become our judgement that changes in the operation of our school, The Southern California School of Evangelism (SCSE), are warrranted and advisable.

The reasons are two fold: The first is that Charles Stancill has elected to retire, and the second is that the marketplace for students has changed - we have no new full-time students for the fall beginning of school and none on the horizon.

Effective June 1, 2013, we have suspended the operations of the school in its format of weekly classes on a semester schedule. This decision has precipitated other actions.

We certainly recognize that the need for preachers continues and even though we are suspending the classroom formate of the school, it is our goal to continue the mission of SCSE of training preachers and dedicated church members to be productive in their local congregations. The approach may be through internship, fellowship, or scholarship, but the mission remains constant.

We extend our deepest appreciation to Charles Stancill for his involvement with and direction of the school. First as a faculty member, then as academic dean, then as director, his influence in the school as been felt over 40 years. Our thanks go to Charles for his tireless service.
